Anybody else disappointed with HGTV?
What happened to the design on a dime and decorating cents? All these reno-shows don't interest me. I used to LIVE for that channel. Only thing on there that I will watch is house hunters (hate international though).. and that I am losing it for as it just seems so fake.
I miss the olden days...

ITA! I used to watch both these shows and loved them. Now I am bored, too much of the SAME thing.

I hate the Property Brothers. Hate their faces, and I just cant stand those shows about renovating a house that you buy....just too many of them. I used to like the one with Barry Wood. He was so cute. I also liked Divine Design. Not enough variation these days. I used to be able to leave that channel on ALL day and now I just can't.

I only started watching recently so I have nothing to compare it too, but I love House Hunters & Love it or List It.

I used to watch HGTV for hours. Now I barely turn it on. I thought it was b/c I past the homemaking stage of my life but maybe it is the programming.
I can't stand the love or list it show and it seems to be on around the clock.
Where is Mike Holmes and that other bald guy I used to love? I can't remember his name (Chris?) but they did a whole series following him, his wife and two beautiful little girls. They bought and house and were renovating each room in each episode. They never even aired the finale where you saw every room. I know b/c I was DVR-ing it.

Anybody else disappointed with HGTV?
Love it or List it annoys me lately. It's so obviously scripted.
I watch Income Property, House Hunters and I ADORE Nicole Curtis' show Rehab Addict because she cares about the aesthetics and really tries to stay true to the period reusing stuff, hitting junkyards etc.

Anybody else disappointed with HGTV?
I like the remodel shows, but I HATE how fake the acting is. my bf gets so angry at House Hunters when they don't like the paint color or Love it or List it when everyone gets so mad at Hillary because she's fixing their roof from caving in. She always gets yelled at and David is a saint who finds houses outside their neighborhood and over their budget. I'll never understand how buyers just say...ok, lets buy something $100,000 over our budget! Sure!

I know Holmes on Homes is on DIY channel, not sure about Bryan's shows.

My only problem with HGTV is they play WAY too many episodes of the same show in a row. I wish every hour was something different. Otherwise, it's still one of my favorite channels.

Yes! Thank you! That was driving me crazy. He was so likable. They should bring him and Mike back.

Yes.
It's become so fake.
And I also can't stand when they show marathons of what would be $800K++ house here for like, $100K in Georgia.
It makes me sick to my stomach.

This is one of my favorite shows on here. They just don't play it enough.
I also like Yard & House Crashers.

I actually love some of the shows. Income Property, Kitchen Cousins, Cousins Undercover, Property Brothers, CRasher shows... I used to like Love It or List It but it's way too scripted and predictable.

Designer's Challenge (loved this)
Designed to Sell (loved this)
Room by Room (liked didnt love)
The more I think about it, this channel has REALLY changed. They DO play the same show wayyyy tooo often. I wonder what's going on????

I like Income Property but that's the only one. This thread made me realize that those missing shows are the reason I don't watch HGTV much anymore.

I'm with everyone else - they do a 500 hr marathon of same show and thatst that. so boring.
there used to be such variety.
what happened to Cash & Carrie? I liked her. Or to Candice Olson show?
I do still like Property Brothers, but not their other variation shows. Same crap. Love It or List It just annoys me. and these are the 2 shows they have on the channel now.

I used to LOVE HGTV but they have gotten rid of all of my favorite shows so I have not watched them in a while as when ever I would check them out they had horrible shows on.
I used to love:
Candice Olson - they repeat the same few shows over and over again.
Sarah Richardson - when was she last on?
Michael Payne and Designer's Challenge. I loved those shows. I feel that the quality of the shows has drastically decreased. I also miss their sister channel - I forget its name though. It had a lot of the better old programming.

A lot of the good shows are still on, just at weird times.
Flea market flip is on during the day now. I watched a few episodes yesterday back to back. Like everyone else said they play shows in blocks. It's annoying.
Other shows like the unsellables and design on a dime seem to be on early in the morning.
The only time I see anything to relates to gardening is weekend mornings, curb appeal and yard crashers.
