Anybody else have the itch?
....... the baby itch?  
It has been on my mind CONSTANTLY lately!
DH and I have spoken about it and don't plan on trying for at least another year, but most likely NEXT summer- which seems insanely far away right now   It's one of those "I am ready but just waiting for DH to give the word" kind of deals..........
Anyone else in a similar position? 
Also, for reference, what is your age? I'm 24.

I'm 24 also and am really set on waiting a while before having a baby. Mostly it's due to the fact that both me & Dh are young and have time for that, but it's also just because our marriage is still so fresh (it's only been 3 months now). So preferably we'd like to wait another 2 years and really spend that time enjoying our marriage without the strain of children.
HOWEVER - I have to admit that there has been occasionally a thought of "oh, wouldn't that be fun if I was pregnant?"  I've always wanted to be a mother and I know I'm gonna have so much fun raising my children. So sometimes I get confused and think I should start asap, but then I have to smack myself in the head and remind myself that there's time for that and NOW is not ideal for us.
It's funny b/c me & Dh were JUST talking about this today!!! We were driving around and he suddenly brought it up about how it wouldn't be the WORST thing if I got pregnant, just inconvenient timing. (maybe HE'S starting to get the itch?? lol) Sometimes we talk about our future family and it gets me all hyped for a baby. But not yet. I need to remind myself that we're not ready 
Hang in there. It'll be so much better when you BOTH are ready. And next Summer isn't all that far away. Time really flies

lol - well i was going to respond, but i was pretty much writing all the exact same stuff as cassandra! sometimes the thought DOES cross my mind...and whenever i get a pregnancy scare and then find out i'm NOT preggo - there's always that LITTLE "oooh..it could've been nice  " feeling...however we're still working on our future financially right now..and we're still enjoying each other. we also want to get a few nice vacations in beforehand if we can. we have some major career moves in the works right now so hopefully those changes lead us in the right direction  i'm confident when it's meant to happen it'll happen and God will do his handy work  besides - dh is so not ready yet..and i really want him to want it too

I do once in a while but the Hub brings me back to reality. We are definitely not ready and the scary thing is....I dont know when we ever will be....and Im 26

same age as you - DH is going to be 27 this year.....we are planning on trying next summer if things go right with our house and money situation. i want an april 2011 baby which would make me 26 and DH would be turning 29.....
we both actually have the itch now hahahaha but we aren't financially ready, still trying to get a house....i think by next year or year and a half we'll be there - at least that is our "plan" for now

Ha! DH is 27 this year too, so our situations are almost identical Only... my DH has the anti-itch at the current moment He DOES want babies, but he isn't at all ready for them yet. There's a lot he wants us to do while we still have our freedom- like travel, etc. Plus, we want to have a house to bring home the baby to. Our apartment is nice, but 3 would be a crowd!

nope very much the opposite since getting married. I rushed to thinking we would have kids as soon as our wedding was over and now I am so against it. Too many people have kids around me and now that I hang out with them the less I want kids IoI

Its funny cuase DH and i thought we wanted kids right away before we got married. Now , we keep putting it off. We also have alot of friends with kids and see how hard it is. We are so back and forth. We're just taking it day by day to see when we are ready. Im 29 years old.

I totally want to get preggers NOW but I cannot - I am out of work, we have no insurance and we live in a one-bedroom apt in house that is for sale.  I have no idea what the next year will bring us - we may move to NH (most likely), I may get a job in which I have no insurance, who knows. So while I'd like to get pregnant sometime in 2010, I do not know if will happen.

I know how you feel. Thats always my fear too. Ill be 30 in a few months and i worry that im doing the wrong thing by continuing to wait. I just pray that everything will be ok once we are ready.

Yes..but we are going to wait a couple years, were both young so we want to enjoy married life a little longer. We are traveling a lot this year and doing all the things that we probably won't be able to as easily once w have kids

No itch here. Maybe it is because most people I know are not even engaged let alone thinking about having kids. DH and I are also pretty set in our routine for the time being. One day I would like children, but not right now. I'm 27.

i'm 30 in a few days and dh will be 37 next month we fiured when he is around 40 we will try. I am not worried about it until i hit 35 then I will be in a panic for kids. We may not even have any.

I'm 31 and DH is 30. I'm 100% not itching for a baby at all. He however, would love to have one. I don't know if I will EVER have the itch to have a baby. I tell DH that if we are going to have kids I don't want to have one over the age of 35. So, we've got 4 years to get our affairs in order.

I agree with you on this one. I'm just about 30 and don't have even the slightest tickle, let alone itch! However, I would like to have one before 35 if we do have one at all.

We both want kids.
BUT, we need a house first. We have a 1 Br apt. and last I heard, it wasnt "proper" to make a baby sleep in a dresser drawers instead of a cribs (not that there is any drawer space either)
Hopefully we can start trying in about a year from now.
