Anyone add a room over the garage?
Any quotes? I guess our garage is 20x10 or so - whatever is average for a one car. We're not doing this now - not that I plan on  but looking for ideas - probably just doghouse in the front of the house and dormer to the back - so not a big room.

the house we moved into in NJ added a closet off their master bedroom over the garage.
I LOVE it! I have a huge closet now
DH is a contractor and has done this a lot. He also dormored our first house on LI b/c it was a cape. We made DS's room there

Are there steps down, or is it level with your bedroom?

We want to eventually add an attached garage and then add a bedroom above that upstairs. I also want to blow out my office to make it a nice family room.
AHhhh if only the money tree I planted in my backyard would start growing already! 
Oh - and let's not forget that I want a bigger kitchen!

This would be awesome! Our house we have the peak over the garage but we have access to it and it is a storage space - a def plus but a closet would be better =-)

nope... no steps. Just a door to the garage. What the pple b4 us did was make the bathroom bigger by taking out the closet and making it one big bathroom then built a closet the size of a room over the garage. It's a regular door so pple thing it's just a regular size walk-in closet, but it's a big room. I love it. Problem is we have to try and keep it neat since it is a room and show it to pple. LOL! There's pics of the house in our album

We dormer ed our whole house and built over the garage. Over our garage we have two bedrooms. Both with big closets. I know our garage is 25 feet deep but im not sure how wide it is
