yes, we are  i really can't wait to get my raise in may, and i can't wait to move into a cheaper apartment. i am tired of living paycheck to paycheck - these gas prices are killing us!!

Those are the days when I say I am going to fire the housekeeper, cancel the trip to London and get rid of the butler 
I already live pretty "budget" what else is there to do?

I say the same thing, we're not "livinig in the lap of luxury" by any means, we both have decent jobs, and yet I feel like we're constantly struggling. And just when I think "We'll be ok", something else comes up.

We actually are in the middle of selling our house. We are moving into the 2 bedroom mother-daughter my parents have. My grandmother use to live there by past away a few years ago.
The apt is nicer than my house to being with and we will be saving over $2000 a month.

Same here.
This is what happens to us. Just when we think we're getting out from under the debt, something else comes up.
I wouldn't say we're poor, but we certainly have to live very conservatively and it's frustrating.

Every time I turn around Im getting hit with an increase of some kind or another..I have kept our budgets from the previous years and it's scarey!!!!
Our COL has gone up tramatically..our LIPA bill has increased by about $100 per month since we bought our house 3 years ago. Yet our usage has gone down!!!!!!
3 Years ago I was paying $1.89 per gallon of oil to heat our home and water. With no gas in the street switching to Natural Gas is not an option for us. Last time I bought oil it was over $3.00 per gallon!!!! (The price of per gallon in my previous house 4 years ago was $1.39!!!)
Our property taxes have increase about $700 per year. And our Homeowners has gone up $400!!!!!
We have cut corners on our corners and we just cant cut anything else out at this point....short of giving up a car!!!
It's scarey how bad things are..and I just get sick over it.

me too! And child support plus the expenses of two extra kids pretty much ensures a long life of no money in sight!!!

me too!
my job pays decently... but I had debt from 4.5 years of grad school.... and DH is STILL in school
I can't WAIT until he also graduates (in a year or 2)!

Paying for eveything is hitting me hard now that I pay a mortgage too!

AMEN to that! When we had our taxes done I realized we made some "ok" money, but don't ask me where the heck any of it is!???

It's so so hard. DH and I want to start having kids soon, I feel like we're never going to be able to afford a house, and I'm still struggling to find a teaching job. And everything just keeps going up. It's insane.
