Anyone else really sore after an external sonogram (ultrascreen)?
I had my nuchal screen yesterday and the tech was really rough. Apparently the baby wasn't in the right position for the back of neck measurements and the tech just kept digging into my abdomen and poking at the baby, trying to get it to turn.
I don't want to be dramatic about it, but it was kind of painful and today I am still sore, especially in 1 spot she kept digging in.
Is this normal?
I know this probably sounds ridiculous, but is there any way the baby or placenta could be hurt by such an exam??

Re: Anyone else really sore after an external sonogram (ultrascreen)?
I just had mine this morning and she had to push down really hard on my stomach too (I thought I was going to pee i my pants, lol!).
I'm not sore though but it definately wasn't comfortable. From what I understand, the baby is so well protected that it isn't dangerous.

Mine hurt too. I wouldn't worry about the baby - the doctor assured me that they are so well protected in there it can't hurt them.

I'm not as far along as you are... but the VERY first sono... at 6 weeks... I was sore for the rest of the day at least. It hasn't happened since... I just think he had to dig a little deeper since the baby was only 6 weeks.

Yes. I remember after my Level 2 with DD, I was sore for like a week. I was at my appt for almost 3 hrs! They couldn't get all the shots of the baby so they had like 2 techs and the OB come and try to get the baby to move. I swore one of them was going to push right through my stomach lol
it was rough

Same happened to me, she was pressing down so hard I was getting mad that she would hurt my little guy, but it went away after a day or so.
