Re: Anyone else subbing yet AGAIN

I started subbing in 2 and then spread out to 4, I worked everyday and being in only 4 helped since it was usually the same schools...when I got steady work I cut it back down to 2 after the new year and stayed in the same school and got my job...just FYI sometimes the more will hurt. I wish you luck! I know how difficult it was and hope you have a great year!! GOOD LUCK!!Chat Icon

But atleast you are getting your foot in the door and being seen... you never know where the subbing can lead you in the future by making these connections!!!

usually like the third week but not before. our permanent subs don't start until then.

have you all tried getting a job in the city? or getting a permanent sub job in one school? day to day subs don't tend to get leave replacements/jobs the way permanent subs do. i've never seen that happen.

best of luck to you all! Chat Icon

Well it's like a crap shoot. I am glad I didn't take a perm sub position in either of the districts I was in last year because neither one is hiring anytime soon. This year I am branching out and hoping one of these 4 turns into permanent sub. The Assistant Super mentioned that it might on my interview. So if it does I should def take it right? Chat Icon

After 2yrs, I think Im SUBd out Chat Icon Chat Icon

I really need challenge and excitement to keep me going.

Im getting involved in teaching Italian, to children as well as adults. Totally different than elementary, but the pay is quite nice and in a fraction of the hours worked Chat Icon
and it's a make my own hours kinda thing.

Im still staying on the sub lists just as backup or those rainy days that grandma is over Chat Icon

I havent looked for any elem jobs, I keep saying "maybe next year" Chat Icon

I was a leave replacement for 2 schools last year and lead me to nothing!Chat Icon All I got was per diem in 2 districts. I stopped really looking here in NY mid summer when we decided to move foward with moving before the years end.
