Anyone else totally ok home bound?
Maybe because it is only my 2nd week but I had 2 maternity leaves and I never really feel like I need to get out. I work during the day and love I can be so flexible by doing things in the house and could go out if I wanted to but haven’t. I also don’t have little kids up my butt all day though so that might be the difference.

Anyone else totally ok home bound?
I am loving it- It's hard at times to keep my 4 y/o busy while i'm trying to work, but she and I are doing so much together. We are cooking together every day (she loves to cook with me) and we're sitting down every night as a family to eat which I love. I find I am way less stressed now, and dh and I haven't argued about anything/he hasn't done anything to annoy me in the last 2.5 weeks lol.. I feel like we bicker way more when we're both working. I also cook way less during the workweek usually.

Re: Anyone else totally ok home bound?
I feel guilty saying it to anyone but I’m totally content. I keep saying I’ve been training for this my whole life. I think I’ll have a hard time adjusting when life goes back to normal.
The kids have been getting along, we’ve finally had the time to do so many things that we don’t normally have time to do. I have days of cleaning and organizing and lazy days of movies and puzzles. My kids keep saying they never want to go back to school and just want to be homeschooled after this lol
My husband is working from home and instead of losing so many hours a day with him while he is commuting we have that extra time together each night.
I do wish the circumstances were different and people weren’t getting sick and dying. It’s scary to think about it and I’m grateful for all the people on the front line that are working and keeping us safe.

There are definitely stressful moments, but the idea of not being tied down to the clock, constantly having to yell at my kids to get out of the house in time for their activities and having to leave for all of mine... honestly, I don't mind this at all. After this is over, I am not signing my kids up for sports, dance gymnastics etc. Only the mandatory religion class and 1 activity we do together- Girl Scouts

Anyone else totally ok home bound?
I feel like I am living in the movie Ground Hogs Day. I don't hate, but I don't love it. Every single day is identical. I guess it is similar when I am working, but at least I get to see different people and places. I like that I get to sleep in until 6, workout out and then start work in my workout clothes. I like being able to have more cuddles with my son. I like going on a family run every day. I would prefer if I was able to go to Target or the actual gym.
With that said, I am upset that my DS will not get a birthday party and that we are missing all the outdoor spring festivals. My son only does rec soccer and that starts in May, which I am assuming is a bust. I am upset that he will not be able to do his favorite thing this year. Our summer vacation is also in limbo because of the virus.

I’m not complete excited about being home but I’m fine. In general I don’t let things get me down so I just adjusted and it is what it is. It doesn’t do me any good to sit and wallow and worry about what ifs.
We are both working from home and busy at work plus I’m the one working with my son on school work as he just works better with me. We have tons to do around the house so those project keep us busy.

Re: Anyone else totally ok home bound?
I've been a SAHM for almost 12 years now so I'm use to being home a lot anyway BUT I do miss having some "me time" when the kids are at school. Everyone needs a mental break and kids 24/7 can feel exhausting some days. Beginning tomorrow my DH will be working from home for the next 3 weeks and I'm definitely looking forward to having him around all day and not having to worry about him contracting anything.
Overall, we're getting through it. Some days are ok, some days feel really long. Just trying to take it day by day.

Anyone else totally ok home bound?
A couple of weekends ago, I cried and had a little breakdown cause I was so anxious. Since then, I’ve been pretty content. My DD is always happy, I started working from home last week so that keeps me busy and gives me a focus. It has been nice to take a step back and not have to run around to activities after school or on the weekends. I do miss walking around Marshalls and Target and going to my gym classes. But I realized that I needed some “me time” like I used to have, so I started going for walks by myself when DH is hime from work. I put my music on and just walk around for however long I need. I actually enjoy cooking dinner every night. I’m trying to stay away from watching the news because I feel like I’m in a good place right now and want to stay there.

Re: Anyone else totally ok home bound?
I am.
We have a nearby State park that we walk to after hours so no one is there when we go except the wildlife.
Or we just take a drive.
That is the extent and I am OK with it.

Re: Anyone else totally ok home bound?
I wouldn't say I am totally okay with it but it's fine. I have my moments thou. Adjusting to homeschooling and working at the same time took some getting used to. We were also upstate when it broke out and decided to stay up here so where we are is TINY and there are 5 of us but we have everything we need and barely anyone has it up here yet. We have been doing a lot of hikes and walks with the kids.

Re: Anyone else totally ok home bound?
I am not missing having to commute to work. I would actually want a WFH job and it would be much easier to do w/ kids in school. I am hoping my boss is more open to WFH a few days a week after all of this.

Normal life is NOT going to resume on April 15th. No way. I’d honestly be surprised if normal life is back by June.

I was talking to a friend about this. I wonder how many companies are going to allow more WFH employees. I think people are going to be very nervous going back to the office for a long time. And if the companies are able to be up and running under these conditions why not once everything slowly gets back to a new normal. And I think it will be an easy argument for employees.
Should be interesting to see how this changes things.

My husband and I were saying the same thing. It's pretty amazing how well WFH is working out.
I feel like my department is actually a little more connected being at home because we have daily conference calls. At the office, we don't all get together just to check in on what we're all doing. I wouldn't mind WFH some days.

I've been asking my boss about it and kept getting brushed off but now maybe they will see that we are capable... fingers crossed! I wouldn't mind doing it 2x a week.

Where are you at that told you 4/15? I thought the entire country was 4/30 now at least. The peak is supposed to come to NY at the end of April so no way are they going back then.

Some districts haven't gotten around to updating it since the new 4/30 date came out

Re: Anyone else totally ok home bound?
I think its confusing because Trump announced the 4/30 date but Gov. Cuomo still has the 4/15 date in effect. I am pretty sure once we are close to 4/15 he will extend to 4/30.

Cuomo has 4/30 for all social distancing also. Think this is practically every state of not longer.

wow. you guys are going back to school????
in CA, no one is going back until after the summer "break." then again, our COVID peak is predicted to hit us in May... where NY is expected in the next couple of weeks.

Really? I didn't hear anything about the extension yet but assume it's coming. No way schools are opening 4/15.

Your schools end a lot earlier than ours do too. We don't end school until end of June so we have more of the school year left than you do.
