Anyone else worried about the whooping cough incidents in LI?
I am a bit freaked out by this as DD isn't fully vaccinated yet. Anyone else worried or am I being my usual worry wart self?

Re: Anyone else worried about the whooping cough incidents in LI?
I'm not certain, but I believe the vaccinations early on are so frequent becauase the newborn's immune system has a little bit of a memory problem....
I suspect this because all immunizations prior to 2 years are given as series... while the ones after 2 years are generally either 1X or require one booster a decade+ later....
Personally, I don't take DS out to stores or restaurants, so I'm not worried. Everyone in our family is fully immunized, so even through he's still undergoing the series, he shouldn't be able to catch it

Thank you...I really need to hear that. I try to rationalize with myself and sometimes need to hear that others are not worried, so I can relax a bit.
