Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Has anyone here experienced it???

one of my best friends (who's 26) was diagnosed with this last month. apparently there are a lot of people young and old getting it. she has this horrible cough but they said it it was only contagious for the first 4 weeks and then she has approximately 8 weeks more of just coughing before she'll get over it.

I had it when I was a baby, about 3 , almost 4 years old. The vaccine I was given earlier turned out to be expired.

It was not fun atall from what my mom told me and the few vague memories I have of it.

I would cough up so much , it was liek I was throwing up with each cough.

I am waiting for a nose culture to come back for my DD she is 7. If she does have this I couldnt imagine where she got it from. She is up to date on all her vaccines and now DH and I may have to get boosters against it. We wont find out til Monday, te Dr. gave her Meds just incase. that cough is nerve wrecking. The dr said that it is called the 100 day cough

my brother had it and had it bad..he caught it from a pediatrican!!!!!!!!!
