anyone elses dc always vomit several times a day? and a vent about my ds's feeding issues.
josh is 14 months and was dignosed at 4 months with reflux and put on meds. he was projectiley vomitting bm at the time.
when he started food we noticed that he had a hyper-active gag reflex and he would vomit his food b/c of that a lot.
now he hates eating (except fruit) and has issues with different textures (mostly meats).
he eats sooooo slow. it takes 1 hour for each meal and i have to entertain him so that he will eat (toys, flash cards, books, singing, etc.) he stores his food in his cheeks, won't chew or swallow, gags, cries, etc.
he will only eat mushy over cooked pasta and mushy over cooked veggies. so every day is the same lunch amd dinner.
frequently he will eat a meal and almost be done (after 1 HOUR) and he will gag and vomit and then i have to re-feed him (ANOTHER HOUR!)
we spend 1/2 of every day eating and it makes getting out of the house so hard. this has been so hard on josh who is strapped into a highchair at least 3 hours a day. everyone in the family is distraught over this.
we are seeing a speech therapist for feeding therapy but his vomitting is getting worse.
has anyone else ever experienced this? any advice?
tia!

I don't know about the vomiting, but I can tell you that DS always gags with the meats. I hope you can figure it out soon.

So aorry you're going through this. Has the speech therapist helped at all? Will he eat with a chewy bag?
