Re: Emily is taking a nap without a diaper on!
Well, an update at the end of the day....
She ended up having 2 good pees on the potty. The first time she actually made one of her cinderella figurines pee first, then she did it. She did that all on her own so I was so surprised and thought it was very funny.
She took a 2 hour nap, with a towel under her just in case, and woke up with dry panties.
We went out to the bank, FIL's house, toys r us, and then to dinner and she was fine until we were leaving dinner. She had an accident then. We changed her, cleaned her, and put her on the potty in the trunk but nothing else, she had already gotten it all out of her.
When we were back home she was excited to play with her little people farm set that we got her. I felt silly getting her a new toy after peeing on the potty only twice in one day (with a total of 4 accidents! ) but I had promised her in the morning that she could get a toy if she peed in the potty. I promised her out of despiration, and she held me to it! We did have a gift card though so it didn't cost us anything. We've had the gift card for months so at least we had a reason to use it.
On the car ride on the way home I told her she has to keep on going on the potty every day. She said "yay, I can get another toy tomorrow!" and I told her that she won't get a toy every time she uses the potty. That she will always get a sticker, and sometimes she'll get a little treat and when we have no more diapers at all then she can get another toy.
So tonight when I was getting her ready for bed I put a pull-up on her, and she didn't want to wear it at first. She wanted to put a towel in the crib again, like she did for her nap. But she had a lot to drink tonight and hadn't peed in a while ---- so I was nervous and I did the pull up.
We'll see how she wakes up tomorrow. I am nervous and second-guessing the pull-up at night but I'd probably be just as nervous if I hadn't put it on her.
My goal is to have her trained this week during the day and for naps, and then we'll tackle bedtimes next week. We'll see how it goes.
Sorry for the long post. Mostly I just wanted to get it out so it doesn't even matter if noone reads it. This whole potty training thing is just stressful so I needed to get the day out.
