Anyone ever get the Keratin hair treatment?
I have really curly hair & in the past, I've gotten the Japanese Hair Straightening. While it was great, it destroyed my hair as it was growing out. I was thinking of either getting a Keratin treatment or the Matrix Straightening. Anyone have any experience with either one? Thanks!

Re: Anyone ever get the Keratin hair treatment?
I get the Keratin treatment done and I LOVE it. I have wavy/frizzy/thick hair and it would take me over an hour to blow dry and then flat iron. My hair now isn't pin straight, it had body but is shiny, no frizz and I can blow dry my hair in 20 minutes - no flat iron. Also, it gradually wears out of your hair - depending if you use sulfate free shampoo etc.... I LOVE it!!

OK, so the Keratin ISN'T a straightener? It's more of a relaxer/conditioning type of thing? Cuz I can not blow dry my hair straight. I've tried so many times & it just never comes out right. Thanks for the info!

Do you have to use the products they sell with it?

you have to muse sulfate free shampoo/conditioner. When I got it done the cost came with a bottle of each so I have been using the salon stuff but I know Lorel (I think?) has sulfate free shampoo/conditioner you can use....

i love the keratin treatment! i loved it so much i talked my sister into it and her hair is a kinkier curl than mine and she is NOT able to blow dry her own hair. with that being said, she had the keratin treatment and is able to straighten her hair all by herself! depending on the length of your hair will determine how long it takes you to straighten it. my hair is just above my shoulder and it's about 5-7 minutes. my sister's hair is longer and takes about 10-15 minutes. i come out of the shower with pretty straight hair and also depending on how you take care of it will determine how long it lasts.
FM with any other questions!

All Ulta Salons are now offering it and although I never had it done- I heard from my girl that they are offering a really good price as an introduction. I'd give an Ulta Salon a call and inquire...
