Anyone ever have a chemical peel?
I went to the dermatologist today for my neverending battle against !@(*$%^ pimples. Never had I though I would still be battling this at 42.
Anyway, the PA recommended a chemical peel to help get rid of some melasma and sun damage. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this done and how were the results.
TIA

I did the Benefit Peel. I went to a spa in east setauket, and they first give you a starter kit you use for a week prior to the peel.. it comes with a face wash, cream thing that gently gets your skin ready for the peel, spf lotion, and an other thing I forgot.
Then I had the peel and it was amazing...she turned on a blacklight and showed me in the mirror (prior to the peel) all the trapped dirt cells, and oil, etc.
Then she exfolaited the skin, which hurt, as it was very grainy & she uses the hand fan for relief, and then applied the solution. You wear it for as long as you wish...I wore it all day. (it's clear) then you wash it off.
They also give you an after-care kit.
It was amazing. My skin never looked better.

Re: Anyone ever have a chemical peel?
I did one on my back a few months before my wedding. I had a lot of acne scarring that I didn't want to have shown in my wedding photos =) ..I don't remember the name of it, but my dermatologist did it in his office. I was very sensitive to sunlight for a few weeks, but I think it did the job well.
