Anyone from Lindenhurst school district that had their child evaluated?

Anyone from Lindenhurst school district that had their child evaluated?
My son will be aging out of early intervention soon and we need to have a cpse evaluation done soon. I was sure if I should have the actual Lindenhurst school district evaluate him or use an outside agency. Any experience?

If it's cpse you choose an agency and then have the meeting at the district.

Anyone from Lindenhurst school district that had their child evaluated?
for us- DS was evaluated by his therapists from EI. One day instead of therapy they just did the evaluation and sent everything to the school district.

Oh ok, we were told that our EI evals from our current speech and PT would be used but we need a psychological evaluation and a speech articulation eval and it could be done either from the district themselves or I could choose an agency.

I would absolutely, 100% recommend having the district evaluate. My DD is now in 3rd grade in Alleghany and went all through the CPSE process through the district. Linda Kaye was absolutely wonderful to us.

The only reason I might prefer an agency to the district is, if your DC is aging out of EI (at age 3)- most district psychologists/ evaluators have the most experience evaluating school aged kids (age 5+). I would want to have someone well practiced with the behavior of a 3 year old.
That's not to say district evaluators aren't great but realistically they have most experience and practice with school aged kids. An evaluation with a 3 year old can be very very different
