Question Re: Lindenhurst school district Pre-K

Those of you in the lindenhurst school district. I was looking at the calendar for the school district and it looks like each elementary school has their own preschool registration date. I am new to this but i thought Lindenhurst had a lottery? This is what i was told a while ago from someone so i am not even 100% sure about this. Being that there is a registration date on the calendar, does this mean that i can just go down to the school at the specified times and register my twins for Preschool, or do i have to enter some kind of lottery first and register if we get picked? I plan on trying to call the district next week, they are on vacation this week, providing the kids stop screaming for 5 minutes. But i am new to this and was just wondering if any of you ladies have any experience with Lindenhurst Pre-K programs. TIA!

Question Re: Lindenhurst school district Pre-K

As of now, Lindenhurst school district doesn't have an official pre-k program in the schools. What they have is a once a week 2 hour program for 4 year olds in the elementary school that is parent volunteer run. They do crafts, get introduced to the school, etc. What you are seeing on the calendar is most likely the sign up for that program. There is also a lottery based program for 3 and 4 year olds to go to Just Kids in Lindenhurst for free for 1/2 days and sometimes a few full day spots. There are only a small number of spots and is won by lottery. I think the Lindenhurst school district website usually posts the information and application for this in like April. Hope this helps!
