I went to the Quest on Hicksville Road in Seaford. I signed in, got the drink (lemon-lime) and was told I had 5 minutes to drink it. Once I was finished drinking, I told the people at the counter, and they told me to come back up and let them know when an hour had passed.

Once the hour was up, I told them and they took me in the back for a blood draw. It was ok. There was a tv in the waiting room and I brought a book. But to be honest, I was so busy people watching and crying (over how many little kids came in that day for blood work ) that the hour went pretty quick.

I have taken the 1 hour at Quest for both pregnancies. It's like the above poster said, only both times for me they have taken my blood prior to drinking the glucose, and then again 1 hour later.

My only suggestion is make an appointment. I didn't this time around and had to wait over an hour to start b/c people kept coming in who had appointments. You can schedule on online.



ETA: I believe my OB ordered a CBC both times that he sent me for the glucose tolerance test. Maybe that is why they drew my blood before the glucose and then again afterwards?

Yup just had it last week she only made me drink and then wait an hour then she drew the blood. No blood before hand for me.
