Anyone have a big christening for one child but
not another? We had a big one for DS (he's 3 now) and we need to baptize DD now (she's 4 months) but I have been sick and recently had surgery and just haven't been up to planning. Her uncle will be here next month from Florida and we want him to be the godfather so I almost just want to do it then and just go to dinner after with our parents. I know my parents will be disappointed and I feel guilty. Not sure what to do. WWYD?

I only ave 1 child but you have to do what you have to do. While you might feel bad- I am sure I would too, you have to do what's good for you at this time. You will make it up to the 2nd child in other ways. Thats how I see it.

Re: Anyone have a big christening for one child but
Yes, we had a big (50+ people) for DD's christening, and DS had literally 11 adults and 4 kids at his. Both of his godparents are siblings, so we just kept the christening to immediate family only.

How about we had 80+ people for Frankie and we havent even discussed Kenzies yet BTW shes almost 9 months old. I just dont have the energy and there is a lot of family drama involved.

Re: Anyone have a big christening for one child but
Im kinda forced to have a smaller one. DD is due in Oct, I want her christening done 2-3 months later. I had my ds christening in my backyard with 110 ppl I can't have that in my house, so I am having it at restaurant. I can only afford 50-60 ppl at a restaurant. So it def will be smaller.

Re: Anyone have a big christening for one child but
We did a big one for DS1, at a hall with dj, etc. For DS2 we combined it with a second birthday party for DS1 and just had a dinner at the restaurant.

Re: Anyone have a big christening for one child but
This may be us. We had 65ppl at DS christening and had in a private room at a restaurant. But whenever we have #2 I just dont think we'll have the money and/or energy to put together a another big to do kwim. We had friends at DS christening so this time i think i will limit to just family and a cheaper restaurant.
