Yes, every year for the past 3 years. It's paid for itself so much...and if DH can't go, then I have a friend use his card (we've never been ID'ed)...and the kids are free...
Plus you get CP Zoo and NY Aquarium...

I have only done it at the bronx zoo. But, many times it has been done and they do not ask for ID. Just flash the membership card and they let you walk right through.
That is what we always do and they always make DH dig his ID out of his wallet each and every time (they just did it on Sat when we went) in fact there was a long line of members to get in and they were writing down numbers with a clip board - which I have seen them do. You are lucky my friends say they are always ID as well.
I have even tried to just hold my ID under my pass so they see it but flash the pass and they ask for it anyway.
BTW to the OP - if you do the Family pass which is about $150 - not only does it give unlimited admission to the paid attractions at the bronx zoo - it also gives you 10% off food and the gift shops. We leave the guest part blank then you can bring a friend - I often bring one of my friends and their DC.
For those that say that they bring extra children - how did you do that? I had to list both girls on my membership.

ohhhh hmmm...maybe it'd be worth it when she's older then, since she'll only be 2 in May.
You actually don't have to go that many times. Both my girls are under 3 and it is still a good deal for us. It just is a better deal once you have to pay for them. The unlimited pass for the day is about $27 a person and parking is $12 for the day. If you and your DH go that is $66 and the pass is $150 (which includes 4 free parking passes that are good at the bronx zoo and the aquarium - there is a pass for $250 which gives unlimited parking but you probably won't need that one).
So if you go say 2 times to the Bronx zoo and one time to the aquarium (which I think is about $17 pp plus parking) then it has already paid for itself.
BTW if you do get a membership get it at the beginning of the month. If you get it say May 1st it is good until May 31st of the following year - but if you get it on the 31st of May it is only good until the 31st of May the following year - so you get an extra month out of it by getting it early in the month.

We bought our membership before DD turned 2, and it was so worth it. We went to the zoo and the aquarium at least 3x each just b/c we had the membership and were looking for something to do. Without the membership we wouldn't have gone b/c of the admission costs + parking.
