Anyone have a friend's mom watch your DC? Need advice
My BF's mom might be interested in watching Gavin when I go back to work.
She can't wait to have her own grandchildren and I know she will be great. She's also a nurse so I am comfortable with leaving him.
My concern is this. I respect this woman immensely and I don't want to seem like her "boss". She has raised 3 kids of her own and I just wonder if anyone has had to deal with a situation like this where they need to express clearly what they want done with their child.... I hope it's not opening a can of worms....
Also, how did you negotiate a fee?

I think that whether its a good friend's mom or a daycare provider, or even a relative (grandma, in law)....you have the right to express how and what you want done with your child.
I let my MIL watch my DD every now and then and at times yes I do stress certain things and she is ok with that. Sometimes that is harder.
as for price....maybe discuss with her what she would be comfortable with and work around that. I know what my mom charges (and she does daycare in her home) but I also know my boss pays her mom and its a lot more...also since she quit her job to take care of her kids.
