anyone have a lap surgery?
this is something that I will be discussing with my doc and RE soon. I was just curious to hear: 1. Why did you have it done? 2. What your experiences were? 3. And how long after lap did you have to wait to start TTC? Thanks.

Re: anyone have a lap surgery?
I had a lap done by my RE because he suspected something was going on with my ovaries because at the time I was 29 with a high fsh. He said everything else was normal so he wanted to have a better look inside. He found moderate endometriosis and my 1 ovary was stuck where it shouldn't have been. The recovery was not bad. I had my surgery thursday and went back to work monday. I had mild cramps and more shoulder and chest pain because they fill you up with some gas so the gas slowly moves up through your body til its all gone. I was allowed to ttc right away. You are suppose to be more fertile after a lap as well. He wanted me to try on my own for 6 months and then go back. I went back after 6 months, had my first IUI and got pregnant. Unfortunetly miscarried. If you need any more info let me know.

Re: anyone have a lap surgery?
I had one done about 3 years ago. After the HSG test, I got pg, m/c at 5w4d and then started with an RE. After looking at my HSG test results, they discovered that my uterus was an odd shape. So, not exactly sure why I had the lap done with the hystoscopy but I guess it ruled out anything going on the outside. Turned out I have a t-shaped uterus and no scar tissue as previously thought. I think after 3 days I was fine, but I was overly cautious so I took it easy for a week. I had to wait out one cycle (luckily AF arrived a week later and on schedule), so 5wks later I started TTC again. Honestly, the whole thing was a waste but at least I have more knowledge and pictures of my insides. I remember it only hurt when I got in/out of bed, otherwise I didn't even need any pain killers they prescribed. They're still sitting in my cabinet. Probably should throw them out.

Re: anyone have a lap surgery?
I had mine done in July, I had been trying for a year, I had three failed iui's and the dr wanted to see if there was anything going on inside of me. He found mild to moderate endo and cleaned it out. I had the procedure on a wed and started to feel totally normal by Sunday. I started to TTC immediately after and got a BFP in August, unfortunately I mc in September.
