Anyone have opinions about Alphabetland (in Merrick) and Little Sponges?

Anyone have opinions about Alphabetland (in Merrick) and Little Sponges?
DH and I are up in the air about which place to send DS next September.
Alphabetland in Merrick is literally up the block from our jobs... but it's in a former middle school and doesn't seem so kid friendly. There's a play area outside but they mostly take the kids for "walks" around the building...
Little Sponges is in Westbury-ish area off of Brush Hollow Road, is a significant distance from our work. It's a huge facility with a gymnasium of sorts for the kids to play in.
Does anyone have any information/experience with either of these places?? Good AND/OR bad opinions please!

There are two Alphabetland sites. One is in North Bellmore and I think that's the site for pre-K ages (3 I think). We got a quote from them and they were pretty inexpensive compared to the other site we checked out.
