Anyone here ever have twins or dc's so close in age (opposite sex) that they..
shared the same room?? We are going to be in the middle of a HUGE renovation when comes, and although this time, i will be putting him in my room with me in the beginning to make nursing easier, he will hopefully be in his own crib by 2 months (g'd willing) Anyway, we are putting Melania and newbie together, at least for a year..in a master sized bedroom..i cant stand the thought of having the room not painted the way i want it, since Melanias room looks like a princess fairy room right now, BUT..i do have to compromise.. So..my thought is, since Melanias furniture will be on one side, and hers is ivory..id like to do furniture in black..the floors will be Beech oak.. can i do a merlot wine color for the whole room..and accesorize each side seperately? Her side girly girl, his total boyish???
eta: also, is this a huge mistake, and should i just keep him in my room for a year or so until we finish everything?

OMG no don't do that
i like your idea but i don't know if i'd do merlot for the whole room, it might be too dark if there isn't a LOT of sunlight and light colored trim. i'd just pick a different color, maybe a green? that would go with ivory and black as well.
i think it is absolutely fine. IMO until a kid needs privacy there is nothing wrong with opposite sex siblings sharing a room.

My B/G twins share the same room, and I plan on having them share a room until they are school-age - around 5. Their room is so tiny they don't have their own sides. The cribs are butted up against each other, lol. The room is brown/cream with green accents and is jungle-themed.

Re: Anyone here ever have twins or dc's so close in age (opposite sex) that they..
im so undecided..i am DEFINATELY not a green person for a girls room..so thats out for us..the reason i went with wine, is that Melanias bedding (which i wont be changing for awhile) and all of her accessories are pink, raspberry, pale yellow (which i dont like for a boy) and hot pink..i want to keep her room very dramatic (which it is now) for his side, we want to use black furniture, and im doing tatoo print style bedding (Eileens bedding, LIF vendor) and for decor we're doing framed music posters (punkrock bands and stuff we like) i like "big boy rooms" for lil baby boys lol.. i feel like the merlot gives me that "edge" for both sides i want.. we have a huge 6ft wide bay window on one wall, so i definately have enough light.. do you think itll work?!?
(for some "difference" in the paint, we are doing what we did in Milas room, and we are doing huge 12 inch verticle stripes on 2 of the walls, in high gloss and flat finishes..so it looks alil interesting, and not so blah)

I kept my DS in our room for about 10 months I'd say, then we intended on his sharing a room with DD but she was way too loud at bedtime up "reading" her books, playing with her stuffed animals that it would have been impossible so we kept him in until almost a year when our renovations were done.
People on here did it with no issues but with my light sleepers, 20 months apart it was just impossible!

I think an infant doesn't care where he sleeps.
Some people swear they can't have two kids in the same room because of different schedules, no matter what sex they are. Others swear they can't have a child over 6 months in their bedroom.
Do what works best for you. If 'Piazza' ends up sleeping amongst pink curtains and walls for a year, he will be fine. His crib mattress will still be adorned in blue and orange and that's all that matters.

I think it sounds great with a little warning from a twin Mom. i had to separate my kids because they were waking each other up all night. I am concerned that Mila, after sleeping alone in relative quiet for over a year will not wake up at the new baby crying etc. Your design sounds awesome IMO. Can I have that room
