I cut the bread lengthwise. Butter it. Drizzle a little olive oil and spread that with crushed garlic. I wrap it in foil and bake it for about 15 minutes until it is warm.

the bellachios brand in the freezer. Comes in a foil pouch and you stick it in the oven for about 12 minutes..done and delicious.

Re: Anyone here have a garlic bread recipe they swear by?
I use this recipe but I don't use the mozzarella cheese
INGREDIENTS 1/2 cup butter 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder 1 tablespoon dried parsley 1 (1 pound) loaf Italian bread, cut into 1/2 inch slices 1 (8 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese
DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and mix with garlic powder and dried parsley. Place Italian bread on a medium baking sheet. Using a basting brush, brush generously with the butter mixture. Bake in the preheated oven approximately 10 minutes, until lightly toasted. Remove from heat. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and any remaining butter mixture. Return to oven approximately 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bread is lightly browned.

I don't remember the specifics right now, but google for martha stewart's garlic bread and America's test kitchen's garlic bread.
They're both incredible!

They're both incredible! I make the America's Test Kitchen version.
The trick is to dry roast whole cloves of garlic (in their wrapper) in a saute pan for 6-8 minutes, then mash up the garlic with a fork, add to melted butter and grated Parmesan, and spread on bread.
Sooo much better than garlic powder!

Also from America's Test Kitchen:
Made this the other night and it was the best garlic bread ever!! Enjoy!
Cheesy Garlic Bread
Serves 6 to 8
5 cloves garlic , grated 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 stick), softened 1/2 teaspoon water 1/4 teaspoon Table salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 baguette (18- to 20-inch), sliced in half horizontally 1 1/2 cups cheese (shredded Italian blend)
1. Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and heat oven to 400 degrees. Cook garlic, 1 tablespoon butter, and water in small nonstick skillet over low heat, stirring occasionally, until straw colored, 7 to 10 minutes.
2. Mix hot garlic, remaining butter, salt, and pepper in bowl and spread on cut sides of bread. Sandwich bread back together and wrap loaf in foil. Place on baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
3. Carefully unwrap bread and place halves, buttered sides up, on baking sheet. Bake until just beginning to color, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and set oven to broil.
4. Sprinkle bread with cheese. Broil until cheese has melted and bread is crisp, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer bread to cutting board with cheese side facing down. Cut into pieces. Serve.

Re: Anyone here have a garlic bread recipe they swear by?
I buy a nice crusty bread...broil until brown on both sides...rub a clove of garlic over each side and drizzle with olive oil after. You broil the bread "naked"....It's so simple and super easy.

Re: Anyone here have a garlic bread recipe they swear by?
I know this is a few days old but this is what I do:
Cut a loaf of bread in half. Butter both sides; spread garlic powder, oregano, onion powder, paprika, and seasoned salt.
