Anyone know how to get my cat to stop scratching...
hes just ruining a $200 doormat I bought and its driving me NUTS. Is there anything I can do to make him stop ruining it any further??? He has a scratching post which he uses but still insists on ruining the rug...I mean its better than him ruining our layed carpet but still. Do those sprays work???

The sprays only work for a short time. It is obvious that he likes a horizontal scratching post, so maybe get one of those?

do you clip his nails ?
when I clip the nails down my cats scratch less.
