Anyone know what happens if you end up in labor before your scheduled C section?

For some reason I am super worried that I am going to go into labor early with this pregnancy based on how much BH contractions I feel and just overall crampiness. We only decided on a repeat C Section at my last appointment at 33 weeks and because my doc is on vacation this week when I go for my 35 week appointment I am not getting scheduled for my section until next week (I will be 36 weeks 5 days). What if I go into labor before the scheduled C section date? Do they just make it a rush C section? Do you labor for awhile since there may not be any Operating Rooms available? For some reason I am super anxious about this. Then I think what if I go into labor before I am even scheduled and my doc is on vacation? Will they think I am BSing about the section needing to be scheduled?

I don't know from experience, but what my Dr told me is that if I go into labor before my c-section date, then it would just be an emergency c-section, so, yes, there may be the possibility of having to labor for a bit.

I would think that it would be in your file that you were scheduled for a c-section so even if your primary OB was on vacation or not on call that day, the office would still have that info.

I went into labor almost 2 weeks before my scheduled C-section. I was lucky that it was later in the evening and the hospital was dead. They did a sono, saw DS was still breech and prepared me for the section. I had to labor a bit because I had eaten right before my water broke. Otherwise, it was fine and totally smooth.

i asked my doc this yesterday because i read online that they would do an emergency c and i got nervous because what if my dh was at work and i couldn't get a hold of him but he said its not so much an emergency but they would just do the c then

I went into labor 2 weeks before my scheduled date. it became an emergency c section and I bumped other people. people that had the nerve to complain in the recovery room that they had been bumped bc of several emergency c sections

I'm sure the same will happen again for this DC

I was worried about this, too because when I hear emergency c-section, i imagine them tearing at my to get the baby out, but the reality is that it's just not planned for that moment and it's not a rushed procedure, especially if you've eaten recently. Don't worry, it'll be fine. I"m actually not worried about it at all anymore

I asked my doctor this tonight and she said that if I do go into labor just to tell the hospital I am scheduled for a c/s and they will do it. She promised me they would not make me go through labor first.
