See but thats thing... I have no problem with my siding I like it and I don't wear my keds anymore... Puma's with fat laces maybe

It the same as soffit material without the vents & it used to come in every color. regular siding is usually "dutch lap", it's not flat.

It's cute
This is what it looked like before..

This is the description from MLSLI Diamond Rebuild Colonial, Completly Rebuilt 2006,Super Size Property, Stone Front, Near Everything, Must See
So we already see that the windows are not new...wonder what else isn't new on the "completely rebuilt" not to mention the old siding looks very 1987-1992 on the diagonal like that, bet those casement windows are at least that old. I have 80's Andersen casements in my house & they are starting to get drafty. And those 2nd floor windows would not meet todays egress guidelines, it doesn't matter all that much but I hate flippers that are full of crap.
That's what the house looked like in October. It no longer has that siding.

It no longer has that siding. Look at the pic on MLSLI. The siding that it has is straight. The property was not that wide in the front, but the back yard was huge and the driveway was very long.
The tile in the bathroom was ceramic, and it had a nice border going through it.
I have seen a lot of flips, and for a flip this house was done very nicely. Yes there was a few things that could of been improved.
The counters and backsplash are granite.
The kitchen was larger....than what is shown. There was a big area to sit and eat
The odd thing about the house was they left the old Airconditionings in.
The windows may not be from the 80's. We have the same Anderson windows in our house and they are fine. Maybe they are not brand new but they were not that old.
There was no drafts in the house....I went by all the windows and doors to see

That "tile" was totally NOT stone/ceramic. I know I said it before, but I'm sticking to it.
This house is WAY over-priced for what it actually is

Re: Anyone look at this home in Levittown?
My house was a flip house - and they did an amazing job on everything! Granted they cheesed out and didn't put in granite - but that was basically the only thing they skimed on.
I think each builder is different. I have seem some that have done crappy work - and others that really cared and took the time to make it nice.

I realize that siding is no longer on the house, what I'm trying to say is that the WINDOWS were there when that siding was done & I'd bet dollars to donuts both the siding and WINDOWS were installed in the late 80's. Andersen casements can not be installed as replacements, you need to change or repair the siding when they are installed. So my bet is, that dormer & and addition was done in the late 80s & the siding & windows were installed at that time. The windows may be in good condition, but they are not new as the RE is claiming "totally rebuilt".

the MLS listing staes "COMPLETELY rebuilt". that's Completely a lie. A false statement like that makes me wonder what else was "completely" done. Either way, its still WAY overpriced for the area.

Well, clearly they didnt knock the house down and start over - that's obvious by just looking at it. But I do think they probably did a lot of work to the house and thats why the realtor said "completely rebuilt". Realtors take liberties with what they write on MLS to describe a house - we all know that all too well.
This is one of the nicer levitt houses that i have seen on MLS, which I am sure is why Scott shared it with everyone. I am not in the market for a levitt house, nor do I particularly like the style of this one, but I think that it was nice to of Scott to share this with everyone considering that a lot of people ARE in the market for levitt houses. And since he is one of the only people here that has seen it in person, I would value his opinion on the quality of workmanship more than someone who is basing an opinion on MLS pictures (which we all also know can be VERY misleading!)....

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing. I think all listings somewhat exaggerate. They're in the business of selling homes, of course they're going to make it sound like it's the second coming of the Taj Mahal.
I think if you like what you see from the pictures, go see it in person. That's really the only way to determine whether or not it's what you're looking for. (You/you're meaning the general "you/you're").

I just found out the oil tank is under ground.....
The boiler was not changed, and the agent I spoke to is unsure about how old it is.

Clearly I wouldn't expect every single rod and beam to be replaced, but if it says 'completely', i would expect windows to be included in that. And that's great that he's seen it in person, but his opinion of the quality of work is going to differ from other peoples opinions- just because we havent seen it in person doesn't mean we can't question the quality of work, either.
anyway, i don't have any vested interest in this house, so its not really worth debating... but i still stand by- that house, for that price, in levittown--- just not happening.

I don't see where anyone bashed the town? Its jsut fact- if that house were in Jericho- the price would make sense, but that is WAY above the mean price of houses in levittown, so asking that price is a huge stretch. thats not bashing- its based on the fact of what the market is there.
I dont understand what the point of posting this was, to be honest. If people want to buy a house thats on MLS, they'll look on MLS. its one thing to post a FSBO here, but i dont get it? Clearly there's people on this thread that know about home improvement and the quality of work done (i don't include myself in that)... and if someones going to post a flip house- i dont see why those who are knowledgeable about it should bite their tongues? Just because one person liked the work done, doesnt mean that its great work, and any interested buyers should get to see both sides of it, no?
