Anyone love their camera and want to recommend? ($400 range)
My Grandmother wants to get DH and I a baby present, and we really need a camera to take pictures of our baby girl coming very soon!!! We're thinking in the $400-$500 range. Does anyone love their camera and want to recommend? What brand? How much? Thanks so much Mommies! Can't wait to join the club!

It depends on what you are looking for in a camera. This is a great site to use for comparison.

I have an Olympus Stylus 710 (I believe) and I love it.
It was $399 (I think) when we got it a year an a half a go, I just saw online that is was listed at $249 and I think that is a really good price.

the olympus stylus 720, it can go underwater, takes vidoe, and is shockproof, you can throw it on the cement and its fine...heres a video i took with it recently...i swear its cheap and it the BEST camera for having a kid...we also have and slr camera but thats more for parties etc..the stylus is for taking with you to places where it may get hit, wet etc....LOVE IT!!!
ETA the vidoes are not like high res. they are little clpis to put on your computer!!! but pretty good cond=sidering its not a video camera
vidoe from my camera

Without question, a Nikon DSLR. Even if I had to kick in another $100, it is the LAST camera you will buy.
I know. I know. I sound like a broken record, but I think many of the women on here would agree with me.
Buy a point & shoot digital & eventually you're going to buy another. Buy the digital SLR & the only thing you'd buy is more lenses & accessories.
