Anyone rent a Symphony pump and have to pay $50 for the kit?
That's ridiculous! Is that something that I can reuse from someone else if I sterilized it?
Maybe someone on here has one if that's the case?

I could send you the stuff you need- I still have it and only used it a couple of times. There really is no way to completely sterlize it but I can assure you I am ok

Re: Anyone rent a Symphony pump and have to pay $50 for the kit?
i rented Medela lactina for the first month and i did have to purchase $50 Medela kit. I also then had to purchase bigger shields and i finally bought my own pump yesterday and returned the rental. Now i almost wish i hadn't bought it because i am SOOOOOO close to giving up BF'ing.

Also this is the Medela Symphony pump right? I got the shields and tubing for only $14(ten for shields and 4 for tubing) So even if you want new, I will just get them for you out here in CA and send them.

When I rented the pump they MADE me buy the kit even though I had a new kit from the hospital. I guess it won't go to waste...I have a spare set now

I had to purchase the kit. I saved everything for next time though.

Thanks, I didn't realize you were in CA. I guess I will just keep it. Thanks for the offer!

FYI. My LC told me that the kit they gave me in the hospital was not compatible with all Medela pumps.

I had the symphony(rental) and got my kit in the hospital for free from the LC as a gift-the symphony has different attachments than the other medelas. Do you have your hosp LC #-she may have a few and willing to share

yes i had to buy the kit..they say you shouldn't use someone else's even if they claim it's "safe" only b/c you can never properly sterilize it
