Anyone stay at the Wilderness Lodge in Disney?
If so, how far was it from the cabins/fort wilderness (Chip & Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long), Settlement Trading Post, etc. Is it something you can walk to? are there shuttles? Also, if you went there, what type of groceries are at the Settlement Trading Post?

Ferry ride or I believe a mile or so walk. Bus too.
Is the Settlement Trading Post the gift shop/store at WL? They have basics I think - milk, eggs, butter, frozen foods, bread, cookies, crackers, wine, beer ...

Yes, close to a mile (as the crow flies) I would say. You can rent bicycles or a golf cart to ease the trek if you like.
The trading post will have most all the basics you will need for your stay.
Great resort; have a wonderful time!

We were there in January. I would hop on the boat to Ft Wilderness. If you want groceries I would go with Garden Grocer (sort of like Peapod). What kind of room did you request? When we were there we asked for a woods view north side and had an amazing view of the castle!

Re: Anyone stay at the Wilderness Lodge in Disney?
Thanks. I was curious for Soy Milk. My sons are both lactose intolerant. Our stay is short (4 nights) so no big need to the garden grocer....just trying to see if soy milk is something I need to lug...I typically do bring it on my vacations but last time I went to Disney we did conceirge level service and it was included and it made life easier.
kp - we also have woods view...maybe I need to request north view?

I'm pretty sure they have soy milk all over. Did you ask over on Disboards.com - I could swear I saw plenty of parents mention that they have it at counter service and table service but you have to ask - as they don't always have it out. There is someone at WDW (you can get the name and email/number - from people over on disboards) who coordinates food allergies - and if you have sit downs and know when you are going you can contact her before your trip and they will make sure that the restaurant has soy milk or other lactose intolerant products available for your kids so that they can have a good time.

Thanks christine....DH is all over those boards lately and sees mixed stuff. I know in MK - it was a pain in the butt...no one knew who carried it. We had to seach all over. We found out there are 2 places that do have it there only. I know when we went last time, they couldn't tell you with certainty if the stores or restaurants on the resort would carry it. They said they always use to but they have cut back in what they carry. But good news, DH called the gift shop at Wilderness Lodge and they said they carry it. woohoo. I may bring some just in case though....Alex still needs it to fall asleep at night so I want to make sure.

Re: Anyone stay at the Wilderness Lodge in Disney?
I would bring the number for on of the delivery places just in case so you could try to have it delivered the next day if for some reason they don't have it after saying that they will.
The requests - call and add it to your reservation. They used to take faxed requests like 72 or 48 hours before you arrived but I have heard that 90% of the time now they are ignoring them - so just make sure it is added to your reservation.
