anyone take probiotics?
I went to the gastro guy the other day, thought I had an ulcer..since I have acid reflux I would not be shocked..they told me to try Align but it's $30 a script and that's just too much right now..
I bought Target Up and Up brand probiotics and I happen to read "not FDA approved" which made me nervous. I just wanted to know if anyone else took them and what were their reactions. I am um..more regular shall we say?? thanks for taking a glance.

Most vitamins and supplements are not fda approved.
I've taken acidophilus and bifidus (the refrigerated kind). I've always heard that the refigerated kind is better b/c it is live (like in yogurt). Not sure of the truth to that.
Either way, you'll be fine with the one you bought.

I used to use probiotics from Shaklee. they were very good. $18 for the bottle of 30 day supply. Im sure the brand you bought is just fine.
they are very good for your stomach and did me a world of difference. Im going to start taking them again.

Align is over the counter- you don't need an RX. I have been taking it for a few years and swear by it. Totally worth the money.

Did the Dr. suggest the probiotics - and why would it help w/ Acid Reflux ---and does it help/work ?
I have A.R. lately and was thinking what an alternative was to medications...thanks. ! I haven't taken probiotics in a while and will start up again if they work !

I drink a small probiotic yogurt shake every day. It has helped to settle my stomach. I used to take acidophilis but this was just easier to fit into my routine.

I take an OTC for acid reflux and it came up that my stomach was bubbly and I felt like I wasn't going to the bathroom like I should...totally didn't expect the doctor to say take probiotics. I like my acid reflux pill..it begins with a p..totally forgot the name. When I take them as I should (every day) it works wonders...I will post the name when I pick up the bottle in a little while at the store.

agreed. Costco has it too and I think it's cheaper.
Also the align website has some coupons sometimes.
My doc gave me a starter pack for 2 weeks.

I buy align from amazon with a standing re-order. I think it comes to around $17/month.
