Anyone that has removed the shellac at home, come in!
So ive had the shellac for 2.5 weeks and i wnted to remove it to let my nails "breathe" before i get it next week again for an occassion.
I soaked my nails in nail polish remover, it doesnt say acetone free, the ingredients list acetone, but not sure still if this is the righttype of remover. After ten mins. i started to peel it off, but i have this layer of like clear rough film that wont come off.
Is that just damage? Do i need a better remover? Help!!
TIA

This is what you do.. Ready?
First off, DO NOT SOAK THEM IN ACETONE!! soaking them is much more damaging then the process below. being that the process below is only truly affecting the top of your nail and not underneath
instead following these steps.
Items needed
Aluminum Foil Cotton Balls Acetone cuticle pusher stick (you may not even need this)
1. take cotton balls and split them so they are the size of your nail and soak them in acetone and lay them right on your nails and then take a small piece of aluminum foil and wrap it around the finger and nail
2. do this to all of your nails
3. once you are done, wait about 10 minutes, every so often squeezing the nails
4. After the ten minutes, when you remove the foils, the gel polish should come right off..
5. If there is any extra residue, use the cuticle stick to push it of..
VOILA! you are done!

This sounds genius!
I can't wait to try it to take off OPI axxium. Like the OP, I like my nails to breathe, too, in between gel manis.
