Anyone use a photographer that is reasonably priced?
have two that I love and have used in the past, but price wise..it just isn't in the budget with two kids.
I want to do a newborn photo shoot, but was hoping to find someone who is priced a bit more reasonably?
Thanks

Not sure what reasonably priced means but Gina Rae Miller, Joanna Prisco, and Kreative Kidz Photography look AMAZING. My husband and I are trying to conceive and these women are all on my radar for when the time comes! Hope that helps!

A FB friend has a business- Celebrations By Luisa Photography. She was having a special 50 for a shoot. I'm not sure of the details but you may want to check that out.

Re: Anyone use a photographer that is reasonably priced?
I know it's not totally the same, and I'm not knocking anyone who does this for a living, but what about using a store-based studio like JCPenney?
My SIL booked a private photographer a couple of years ago for a family holiday shoot, and her prices for just a handful of prints were like another mortgage payment.
I ended up buying my Christmas cards from her but felt totally guilty because even those cost an arm and a leg.
I went to JCPenney the following year and got a ton of portraits, cards, etc. for I want to say around $200 or $300.

Re: Anyone use a photographer that is reasonably priced?
It might not be "popular" on LIF but I take my kids to picture people. I think they do a good job and have been happy with their work and their price.

Is that the place in Roosevelt Field?
I think that's where I took DS when he turned 1 and I don't remember them being super expensive either. Probably along the same lines as JCPenney.
Only thing I didn't like about that place was it was like a zoo in there and I think they were behind in terms of scheduling.
Maybe if you booked the 1st or last appt. of the day though, you'd be okay. Plus it's not the holidays......DS birthday is 12/30 so I was trying to kill two birds with one stone.

We use Remember When Photography. They're on Facebook. Prices are reasonable and they give you a flash drive with your pictures. I order prints on Shutterfly and they come out great!

Re: Anyone use a photographer that is reasonably priced?
eh i really wouldn't want to bring a newborn to a mall photographer. I'm not slamming them and get for someone with a tight budget it's sometimes a perfect fit.
I don't know what reasonable is defined to you, perhaps a specific price range? Are you willing to be more flexible on digital negatives vs prints. I mean in the end you will be printing them (i hope) so maybe a few digital negatives and some prints would be better. Perhaps someone just starting out might be better or a portfolio building photographer.

Unless your child has an illness, for which I am truly sorry, I have never heard of not being able to take a child out in public. Picture People is in BBB which is much less crowded than the mall. I would go when they first open.

Yes, in crowded places newborns shouldn't be because they haven't had their shots. I was told by the hospital and my peds office.
I walk him around the block and things, but no crowded places.

Re: Anyone use a photographer that is reasonably priced?
I guess I'm a lot more liberal with that because I took DS out with me around a week old.
I think if you can get there first thing in the AM you will be totally fine.
But I know some people are more sensitive to this than others and feel lectured if that's their choice.

I just wasn't comfortable with it, I actually still don't take him out much and he's 5 months. I've just got ants in my pants about him getting sick and want to avoid it if I can :)

Re: Anyone use a photographer that is reasonably priced?
You can get packages with certain photographers which include all images on a CD for less than what a previous poster mentioned paying at Picture People. We actually stopped in PP 2 wks ago on a whim. I'll never do that again. It cost us more than our newborn session with an actual photographer for not great photos and only a handful at that.
