Anyone want to let the cord "pulsate"/ return blood to baby and subsequently not bank cord blood?

We were planning on banking the cord blood with CBR but now I am reading some things about the benefits of letting the cord "pulsate" so that the blood returns to the baby (allowing time to "unfold lungs",preventing iron loss, maintaining blood volume- and some other things). It's got me a little confused. On one hand the chances of the baby needing the cord blood in the future is SLIM, but life saving should the need arise- and also who knows what kind of advances the future will bring. Maybe my child can use it for something more common later in life if they figure out how to sustain/multiply it. On the other hand proponents of the cord pulsating say that the benefit is 100% so you shouldn't waste it on the banking that you will very most likely never use... (There are also many people who say that the banking phenomenon preys on nervous new parents b/c the real statistics of successful use are sooo low- but AGAIN- you can't help but think what IF I'm that one, kwim?) Also, to make it more confusing I read that there might be a link between leaving the cord too long and jaundice- a big con. One last thing, that I can't help but think is that if there is a benefit to pulsating why haven't Doctors been doing it all along? It only takes a few minutes.

Any thoughts?

I am keeping the cord attached, allowing it to stop pulsating, it only takes a couple of minutes. If I had decided to bank the blood I would NOT have used a private storage, I would have gone with public storage.

I am going to ask to keep the cord attached if possible until it stops pulsating. I am not sure if they allow that since I am having a C. If not, I would probably donate it.

I feel like I'm starting to lean towards pulsating. I read that the jaundice connection really applies to medicated births, and we are practicing Bradley- but also I know things don't ALWAYS go as planned...
