I watched it. I found it really interesting and confirmed all the media stories I had heard about Scientology in general.
I never got into the whole L.Ron. Hubbard Dianetics thing even thought I remember reading the book when I was in HS. I understand the "mental appeal" of Scientology but really - its such a cult! The majority of its members tend to be folks who had a very unfortunate upbringing (financially, socially, emotionally) and were vulnerable to Scientology claims. I am glad she is speaking out - I hope they really just fall apart from the inside, they call themselves a religious group but in all they do it take $$ from people by praying on the uneducated, the gullible and weak-minded IMHO.

I read her book and loved it.
It was crazy what the "church" puts you through.
She had to be reprogrammed after the tom and katie ordeal.
She was saying how during the hiatus of King Of Queens, people were away on all these magical vacations and she just was like "yeah I was in Florida"...
I want to watch this show. I hope it is on demand.

I didn't watch it, but have been interested in it since Leah Remini came out about it. It sounds totally insane!
Do they ever discuss Shelly Miscavige? She just disapeared?!
I wish Katie Holmes would come out! Would love to hear her side, but she never will. Whatever she signed with them she is swarn to secrecy, but I love how she was smart enough to get out of it.

Very interesting.
I knew Scientology was a cult, this just very publicly reinforces it. Interesting how Scientology is never wrong and they spend a lot of time on the defensive.
DH and I DVR'd the series.

I have it on DVR, I can't wait to watch it.
I used to work for a CPA firm and we had a client who belonged to Scientology, and the amount of money they gave to the church each year was just insane.

Just watched it. Really interesting stuff. I don't know much about Scientology other than it's basically a cult. However, AND THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION BEFORE ANYONE GETS OFFENDED, I find pretty much all organized religions to be cult like. But this one takes the cake.

I know I have posted this a million times here but it is such a cult, these people get obsessed over L. Ron and his books, they basically run Clearwater, they have bought politicians in the area. They take money from people who can't afford to feed themselves. Just twisted. I'm so glad my father is done with it, I hope that his gf really is done because she was in DEEP.

Agree. And the ones that got out! That woman was 42 and had been in it since 14. No high school. She said she never learned how to cook, how to drive, had no money. How brave of her and great her dad took her back or she would've been homeless on the street. Crazy!

I agree with this!
I watched the first ep last night and am hooked. I'd like to read her book too. I am DVRing the rest of the series.
I hope Leah is under some type of protection because they are going to continue to come after her and her family.

I think only 2 episodes have aired. I think they're doing a good job with the documentary format (especially the last episode when they talked to the guy that was in for over 30 years). The only thing that bugs me is there are times that Leah comes across as sincere and there are times when it seems like she wants the attention brought back to her (felt fake when she was crying while reading the letter from the guy's daughter).

I am really enjoying it. The one thing that bugs me is the editing. When she is sitting talking to the camera in the white blouse sometimes her nails are white and sometimes they are red. It is distracting me

Episode 3 is just heart breaking. Honestly, I believe she made the right call when both her interview subject Mary was sobbing and Mike next to her suddening broke down. It was terrible to watch. How could you not be moved?!

I was interested, but the episodes are too long for me. I was wondering if the top celebrities are treated the same way as the people in these stories. I would think they aren't, because they would then want to leave. Did Leah say she had to be interrogated?
