Anyone's dog break-out with white flakes when nervous?

Our dog tends to get dry skin, so we feed him special food and get him fish oil in his food. Anyway, his coat is now shiny and perfect, but he does get the occasional white flakes. However, I noticed when we were leaving the vet the other day he really broke out, like so bad. Then the next day he was fine. I was wondering if the white flakes were actually more of something that happens when he gets really nervous. He does have some anxiety issues being a rescue.

I've worked with dogs that are used in therapy sessions. When the dog would get nervous or anxious because of the client, the dog would get dander-like flakes on his hair. It's usually an indicator of anxiety.

I definitely think it is anxiety related, now realizing everytime it happens he is always in an uncomfortable situation.

My dog did when he was a puppy. He was-- and still--is a little on the fearful side. I don't notice it anymore, but then again, he has tons of fur now, so I may just not see it.

Yes, my dog has that problem too. He is not a rescue but yet he is a very anxious/excited dog sometimes.
