Applied to so many jobs...

I was laid off June 3rd and I have since applied to jobs on a daily basis and nothing.. Well I actually have been on two interviews throug networking but each interview there were dozen applicants...I'm soooo freaking frustrated... If I had not opened my mouth at work I probably would still have a job or if my *** of a principal was never there I would still have my job!!!!

I've been unemployed for over a year. I graduated in May 2010 and still haven't been hired. The number of applications I have sent out is nearing my weight, so I know how you feel.

My boss just hired someone who was unemployed since the winter.

She worked in education as a guidance counselor and was laid off due to budget cuts.

It's rough out there.

I work in a field that is traditionally always known to be hiring...........even for $hitty low paying positions........and you are lucky if you even get a response to your resume at this point.

I have been working in my field since 1998 and send out resumes every now and again and NEVER get a response.


I feel very fortunate that I am not in a position that I have to look for a new job right now.

I know but what's more annoying preparing for a phone interview and then be told in the beginning of the phone interview that the position has been filled but do you have any questions about the school??!!!

I am going to start showing my DH these posts.

I was only laid off lat week, but there was a previous wave of lay offs back in January. One of the girls (a close friend of mine) did not find a job for 6 mos. She has a Master's degree.

I have an Associate degree in Criminal Justice (where's THAT going to get me) and I've been applying to places for months (as I was miserable at my last job).

I want to use this time to go back to school, but DH thinks I need to focus on getting a job. All well and good, but the market is TERRIBLE

It is really hard out there. My dh would go on interviews and there would be 20-30 people going for the same position.
He would have great interviews and then nothing.
Just too much competition.

Keep going though. Something will come through. My dh has finally found a full time job and was hired for a higher position than he applied for.
