Aquarium owners - how many people have them?

There are a bunch of aquarium message boards out there but the LIF people are my favorites.

I have a 26 gallon bowfront freshwater tank. I have platys, zebras and an angelfish along with some others.

What do you have?

i would love to have one. My dad had one when I was growing up. I know we had a lion fish in there. there are so many beautiful fish out there.

We do, but to be honest, I know very little about it. My DH loves aquariums. The night he moved in we ended up in the ER over his aquarium! He was carrying it down the stairs, tripped over my dog, and fell and it broke and the fish were everywhere, and he had a bad cut in his hand. (I was at work.) He saved the fish, mopped up the water and blood (all while his hand was still bleeding) and I rushed home and my parents came to help, too. He went out to the store to buy a temp tank, set it up, saved all the fish. Ate some dinner and had a glass of wine, and realized his hand was still throbbing and bleeding. We had to go to the ER for stitches--but that's how much he loves his tank!

I think the one we have now is a 55 gallon tank. We have a red tail shark, and a bunch of others, but I don't know what they are called. My older daughter loves it, especially the shark, and the fish she picked out, which ended up having babies. We had a beautiful, big orange one that died last year. I called DH when he was at work and said the fish looked sick. He told me what to do, but the fish was too sick and died a few hours later. He had been with DH for many many years. We still miss him in the tank! Funny how you can even get attached to a fish!
