No, we are talking about having #3 and fortunately, since i work at home, we don't have to worry about daycare. I am not worrying about whether or not I can afford to put 3 kids through college at this point, I will worry about that in 17 years. Right now I know we can afford to put food on their plates and clothes on their backs. If we depended on daycare, then finances probably would be an issue.

Yup. Big time. We have a very small one bedroom home. We can't expand because we bought this house at the tippy top of the market and now have negative equity. We are stuck. We can't expand and can't leave.. Therfore, Ds is in our bedroom. we have half a kitchen we could MAYBE turn into a bedroom. But, it would be quite sad and pathetic.. Sooooo... Finances will delay #2 for quite some time...

Plus. We had issues TTC. We had a m/c and then needed an RE. Then I had a very rough end to my pregnancy and afterwards ( I had pre-e that , lucky me, continued and got worse after DS was born). So I was basically pregnant, or TTC for like 3 years.. I SOOOOO need a break from that.

I'm 38 and will be 39 in June. We had IF issues and because of all this even though DS is only 2 months old, come April we are going back to the RE to TTC #2. In this case we are ruled by my biological clock rather than finances albeit it will take at least 5K for us to get pregnant againChat Icon

not at all. our biggest thing was for our babies to be close in age so they get to grow up together.

they were until we unexpectedly god pregnant. i didn't know what we would do.

but it's all working out and it's not costing us much more than one child. we don't have daycare costs, family is always buying her clothes and things she needs. we basically buy diapers and formula.

i'm glad we didn't wait like we planned

Not at all. Our decision to TTC #2 is solely based on age. I'll be 40 this summer. If I wait for enough money, Abby would be an only child.

same here

age was the real reason we started trying for #2 when DS was 6 months old

Im 36 and DH is almost 39

Our decision was based solely on the age factor. Both DH and I turned 39 in November. We knew we were going to start TTC when DS #1 was 6 months old - I conceived when he was 5 months.

DS #2 will be born Feb 8 and they will be 14 months apart.

Re: Are/did finances play a part in deciding when to TTC for #2?

Yes, but our whole situation wasn't right. We were very young when we had DD & didn't get married until she was 2 which was when we were able to afford our own apartment & such. We started TTC #2 about 3 months after the wedding.

Finances are playing a role for #3 because we'll need more space & a little more room in our budget. We aren't considering TTC for anoter 2 years really so I'm hoping our finances will be where we need them by then anyway.

YES. the ONE thing keeping us from TTC for #2 right now is finances and my job security.

DS is 21 months. I HAVE BEEN SOOOO ready for a while... and DH is now ready, too.... but we are nervous, especially DH.

I tell myself that it is good that I think with my heart and DH thinks with his head... so hopefully we even out....
