Are there any flowers/perennials I should plant now...
...to bloom next spring, summer?
Just curious. I am trying to get away from the annuals (I had been planting impatiens and they don't even last a season).
I need some gardening guidance. Thanks!

Re: Are there any flowers/perennials I should plant now...
I'm trying to get into the habit of planting perennials in fall as well as spring.
Once the weather is under 80 consistently, I'm going to start putting my potted daylilies, ferns, and lariope in the ground.
Fall planting is typically a time for planting bulbs - tulips, daffodil, hyacinth, allium.
However, I'm going to wait till spring to plant my semi-tropicals that probably wouldn't respond well to the winter yet - canna, agapanthus, elephant ears. And then next fall after a successful growing season, mulch the hell out of them so they survive the winter.
