Are there other companies like ING Direct out there?

I opened a online savings acct with HSBC that is giving 5.5% interest
is that what you are looking for?

HSBC.com has an online account but I thought it was 5.05%.
Emigrant, Citibank, are also online accounts. I can't think of the others off the top of my head but if you go to bankrate.com they will give you a list of online banks with higher interest rates.

Sorry...its 5.05%....we had an introductory rate of 6.0% until 4/30...then it dropped to 5.05%

Second HSBC has been better than ING direct and a few people I know who suggested it to have all changed their accounts to them

Wamu has 5% interest online when you sign up for both the online savings and checking accounts. And the nice thing about the Wamu one is that you can bank in the actual bank as well as online, so if you needed to access the money you could.
