Stonybrook told me that for a normal birth you are allowed two people. You can have DH and one other person.

They do this so there isn't too many people in the room. With my birth I had DH, 3 doctors and a nurse. It does get a little crowded if there are too many people. One of the assisting doctors taught me how to push and 'coached' me.

With my son, DH and my mom were with me the whole time. No one else was allowed in. However, my grandmother and in laws were able to sneak in at some point or another. During the pushing though only DH and my mom were in there with me. I delivered at LIJ.

I have yet to go to the hospital, and I'm going to ask the doctor at my next visit, but I would like to have Brian, my mom, grandmother, and if she can hack it - my sister...

These are my rocks, and I feel as if I'm going to need them every step of the way.

I was allowed two, but only had my sister and was even reluctant about that. I think she's scarred for life now Chat Icon
