Re: When do you plan on booking the church for baby's christening??
I'm waiting til after a few months.... I would like to do have her christening in the summer/fall i think, and still have to talk to my priest back home about baptizing her.
Because I'm Greek Orthodox, I have to find out if my old priest will baptize her with just a godmother (He's really old school with tradition). Brian's brother would be the godfather, but I know that the church won't recognize him as a godparent because he's not baptized GO. The church is very strict that way, but it's all good. I told Brian from the get go that any of my children would be baptized GO....

Re: When do you plan on booking the church for baby's christening??
I hope to take care of planning it the first month that I'm home. I thought I might get to it sooner but I'm just not.. I can't seem to speak with anyone at my church when I call so I'm just going to put it off until the baby is born. I want to have it in the summer anyway, so I have plenty of time.

we still need to find a church down here. So booking will probably not happen until after she is born.

Re: When do you plan on booking the church for baby's christening??
I started looking into this and my church said you should book in your 4th month of pregnancy! I left a msg this morning to try to set a date for the summer b/c I want to do the party under tents in our yard.

Re: When do you plan on booking the church for baby's christening??
I was going to start planning, but everyone had me all scared that it's tempting fate to plan anything before the baby is born. Now I'm trying to get stuff together and I can't for the life of me find my marriage certificate. I now have to send away for a certified copy, so I won't be planning anything until after the baby is born. It doesn't really matter to me when it is, so I'm not really in a rush.

Re: When do you plan on booking the church for baby's christening??
I'm up in NY for christmas week so will be booking for the wek of July 4th. I planned my DD's ahead as well. I know I certainly wont have time to worry about it too much with DD#2's arrival

Re: When do you plan on booking the church for baby's christening??
I went to the church when I was about 7 months pregnant to register with the parish. It didn't seem like it would be much of a problem to schedule the baptism and they told me the upcoming dates available - they do them once a month.
