Are you getting a mobile?
Will you buy/register for a mobile? Will you get one that matches your bedding set or one that may be more visually stimulating?
If you're getting one that isn't a part of your bedding set, please post the brand and pictures. TIA.

i got the one that goes with the bedding, and we also got the ocean wonders aquarium to go inside the crib.
if DS doesn't like the mobile i'll just get another one, no big deal.

I like the old-school mobiles (hang from the ceiling and move with the air currents). since we love modern stuff, we got a flensted mobile..... Image Attachment(s):

OMG- BEST invention EVERRRR.........The mobile that comes with bedding are a huge waste. They move for all of 2 minutes and are BORING.
The Tiny Love mobiles are fantastic. We got the Symphony in Lights version and it goes for 20 minutes, plays a variety of songs, the characters "move", and it has a suoft light to use at night.
I swear that thing would mesmerize DD until she fell asleep. Even now, she still plays with the music portion (the mobile is detachable).
It's ugly as sin- but SO worth it......

I hate mobiles !!! - I just think they ruin a perfectly decorated nursery - But then again, I don't like anything 'cutsey' -
Isn't there something equally visually stimulating I can put IN the crib or something? Or will I have to suck it up and endure the dreaded mobile?

I registered for a cute matching one and a fun one. This fun one is the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium mobile, has lights that go on the ceiling, and plays music, etc.
"Turn baby's nursery into a soothing underwater environment! A dancing light pattern of bubbles, fish and swirls projects onto the ceiling, and the light softly glows. Soothing lullabies and ocean sounds play as fishy friends float gently overhead. Inside the crib, baby can press on a squishy pad "fishbowl"! Then as baby grows, the mobile converts for dresser top use, so sweet dreams can continue right into the toddler years! Requires 4 D batteries, not included."
Although this one doesn't "go" with my nursery, I thought it sounded really cool and entertaining. And it has a remote too. I will see if I like it and can deal with it not matching.

i have this same one and DS LOVES it!!! the ones that go with the bedding are horrible--boring and they don't last for more than a minute or so. this one has a remote, lights on the ceiling, etc. so much better!

I registered for and received the one that matched my bedding and I hated it. It ran for like 30 seconds at a time. We put it away months ago.
Everyone else I know goes for the Tiny Love one.

this is the cutest thing ever...im gonna register for it..
i also am not a fan of the "look" of the mobile, and do agree it ruins the niceness of a nursey with its plasticy looking parts and all, but the baby will love it...
if you dont want one, id recommend the ocean wonders...i got that too.

Despite the ugliness of the mobile, it is so worth it!!! I was reluctant at first because it didn't match my bedding, but the minute DS saw it he was mesmerized! It puts him in some weird trance and he just stares at it. You can still keep using the music portion even after the baby outgrows the mobile.
It helped me tremendously because it bought me 20-30 minutes of peace and quiet each morning to wash bottles and pumping pieces. If I could do it again, I would have only bought this mobile and ditched the one matching the bedding set.
The version I had came with a remote control. It worked out well because DS didn't have to see me when I restarted the music in the mobile. The remote control worked from the hallway...I didn't even have to enter his room!

I got the Tiny Love Lights and Motion for home and the one that was posted above for daycare that is how wonderful it is!!! At about 2 months she loved that thing so much that I could put her in her crib, shower, get dressed, do my hair and makeup before would make a sound. She would kick her legs and swing her arms and never take her eyes off it! Without it, I would have never gotten ready...swings, bouncy seats, etc never entertained her as long!

We are getting the one that matches the bedding. I can't get past it not matching the rest of the room, but if it doesn't do the trick for little I'm sure I'll cave.
