Are you getting multiple car seats/strollers?

Our child will probably be taken care of by me, DH, and my parents. We obviously all have different cars.

I don't know if we should get multiple car seats/strollers. I think it would be convenient to have a stroller/car seat for each of us.

i know my best friend registered for multi things - so that both sets of parents could have one of everything...

i personally think that is wrong. if your parents want stuff for themselves, they can buy it....if it's just for you and Dh's car - that's fair - register for 2 - but she registered for 3 of the big things (pack n play, stroller and car seats) - i just didn't agree with that at all.

Nope, just one. We did get an extra car seat base for DH's car. But that's it. Didn't see the need to go overboard.

With DS#1 we registered for two carseats and two infant seat bases. We only had one stroller. I'm glad that we each had a car seat because moving those seats are such a pain (personally).

nope, we did register for a travel system and 2 additional bases for DH's car and MIL's car and received both.

My parents bought their own infant seat base (they could use my seat), their own convertible car seat and their own stroller. This way I didn't have to lug things back and forth. We offered to buy the items for them but they wouldn't hear of it.

I registered for multiple things, honestly I don't see whats wrong with it...Ppl realize that I have multiple things on my registry and if they don't care to buy me the same of something then they won't, its their choice....
I did register a. for in laws, but they bought they're own stuff mainly, but b. I have a three level house and we hang out in the den, living room, and bedroom.., so I would like to have a pack n play in the den and the living room that wherever we are she can be with us...things like that..

nope. we live in a one bedroom, so one of everything is going to be more than enough. we'll probably share our carseat with my parents b/c as of right now we only use our car when we're out at their place (we live in brooklyn with no where to park). if we move out on the island and use the car more, i can see my parents MAYBE getting their own if we have to do pickups where we need mutiples.

MIL may have to get some of her own stuff as she live in TX, but at the same time we can always just check the car seat/stroller if needed. the crib may be a problem though...

I did register for a bigger car seat for once he grows out of the little car seat that comes with the stroller. I think that one will only be good until about 6 months.

yes, we registered for two convertible car seats, and an extra base for our infant car seat.

as for the stroller, we registered for one for when he is small up to 6 or 7 months and then another for when he is older.

With DS we got one infant carrier and 3 bases (for my/DH truck, one for each grandma). We now have 4 convertable seats. Everyone has their own & DH & I no longer share a truck. We are re-using our infant seat from G & buying an additional base for DH truck. Not sure what the heck we are going to do when both DSs are in convertible seats

ETA: I have a stroller, DH has a stroller, mom bought her own stroller, & the ILS bought their own stroller. I had no problem sharing my stroller with anyone, but the grandparents all wanted their own.

I registered for 1 infant car seat and an extra base. We have 2 cars and need a car seat for both. I also registered for 2 convertible car seats. I registered for 3 strollers, but I plan to use them at different ages and for different things.

we registered for the extra carseat base, our parents will also be taking care of baby when we are at work. So we have been looking on ebay and craigslist and ebay for packnplay which have been ranging almost half the price. I dont think its fair to register for multiple items for our parents but thats just our opinion.

We just registered for one car seat and a additional base for DH car. I also only registered for one stroller. If we need an extra Car seat or stroller down the road, we will buy it ourselves.

I don't think you need more than one infant seat. You can buy an extra base/bases for other cars. It is safer tio have the car seats/bases installed properly in the car and they can stay there.

For the convertible car seats I recommend getting one for your car and one for your DH.
They are large, usually a pain to install and, I think it is safer for it to be installed properly and stay put in the car.

For other people's cars.......... I think it depends how often they will be driving your child.
I think you can get away with them borrowing your seat if it is occassional. I would recommend getting another seat grandparents, etc who will be driving them alot.
