Not at work but at home yes.

I have a million but here is the worst one:

When I open the windows in the house, I need all of the ones in the same room to be open the same amount.

OMG totally! Plus, we have shades, so they must be opened the same amount in the front of the house...

For some reason I feel it's a sin to have them at different levels...like...OMG what would people think!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Nope.

But I do have a co-worker who is OC about locking doors and yeah we tease him.

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night to make sure the doors are locked. Chat Icon But DH knows this so he just sets the alarm now. Chat Icon

I need to fold my towels a certain way...

I'm the same way about the doors and windows. DH has a habit of forgetting to lock things. I'll check a gazillion times before bed, and I've been known to wake up in the middle of the night to double check.

I do that with the heat in DH's car! (mine doesn't have numbers). And I will open the mic at 45, but not 35 or 55 (how sad). DH will change the heat to a random number to annoy me (like 71!), and he laughs when I 'fix' it.

And the shades/blinds have to either be at the mid level of the window (where the windows are separated) or to the part where the handles are. Chat Icon

I have to do this also. I "fix" them if DH doesn't do it right. It drives me crazy if they all don't match.

I also do my bathroom routine exactly the same each morning and night. If I deviate at all, I just don't feel right.

DH thinks I'm nuts somtimes Chat Icon

Re: Are You OCD?

With some things I am. Like umbrellas for example.. when they're closed it has to be done neatly so you can put the cover back on if you want to. You can't just snap the little thingy on and leave it all bunched up. Drives me nuts. My friend once tortured me with that because she refused to allow me to fix it.

And all can labels must face out. Every time I go into the kitchen I spend 20 minutes rearranging the mess my DH made in the cabinets.

Re: Are You OCD?

YES!

At work my desk is in a certain order and if the stapler is moved an inch I'll know it and cant function. My co-workers thought it would be funny to switch everything on my desk. Instead of my monitor being on the left side they moved it to the right, and everything else sthey just switched. OMG it took me all day to get everything back to the way I had it. They didnt let me live that down for a long time. At that time I was upset but now I just think it's hysterical and plot the ways to get them back.

At home, my closet has to be in a specific order. Color ordered and organzied by work clothes, at home but going to store and/or errands, going out sexy clothes and lounging clothes. All are grouped by color, style and sleeve length. It's really really sick. My DH makes fun of me but when he is looking for a shirt he doesnt make fun of me Chat Icon

My linen closet is just as bad. I have shelves and each shelf is for a specific type of towel and in color order. Guest towels that are for show only (to be put out when we have company), guest bathroom towels that can be used, master bathroom show only, master bathroom to be used, beach towel, dog's towels, dish towels and misc old towels to be used for garage or around the house uses.

On my coffee tables I have pictures. One coffee table I have 3 picture frames and each frame has a picture of DH and I but in a specific order. One side is of us at a wedding when we were dating, then the other side is an e-picture and the center picture is a wedding picture. They have to remain in that order (I dont know why I am obsessed about that, but I just want them in that order) and DH likes to rearrange the pictures or move them to different spots on the coffee table.

I tend to be like Monica from Friends

I am the same what. it needs to be a derivitive of 2...so it can be even OR exactly half of the maximum volume (ie 15 if the max is 30).

I slap the bottom of a Snapple bottle EXACTLY 10 times. no more, no less. I rinse the tea kettle out EXACTLY 3 times...sometimes dh tries to "trick" me and only does it once or twice...I always know.

if I start writing on a piece of paper and the ink runs out, I cannot continue with a different color pen. If I was writing in blue and the only other pen is black, I have to start over. Chat Icon Chat Icon

there are so many more. I really need help.

Re: Are You OCD?

Never diagnosed but I am sure I do.

Just some of them:

- when buying clothes: check every clothes in my size to make sure I pick the "best" one. No hanging threads or anything "goofy" on it.
- When buying newspaper or magazine: Pick the one with no bend pages of any kind. yes, I will go through the entire pile.
- Cannot stand a book written all over. No hand writting on books.

I have a hard time letting people touch my things.

DH puts up with it. He knows.

I DO THIS, TOO!

When I work out, I cannot jog for, say, 22 minutes - the amount of time I work out (minutes) must end in a zero or a five, no matter what.

Before I leave my apt, I check my bag 3 times to make sure I have my keys, etc.

I check the alarm 3 times before going to sleep to make sure that it's set.

Re: Are You OCD?

Yup... with certain things...

I posted about my alarm clock issue in another thread and how I check it 27 times before being confident enough that it's set right.

I also have a HUGE issue with my email inbox. At work we use outlook.. I can't have ANYTHING in bold. I have to read every single email as soon as that little envelope pops up on my screen. I can be in the middle of the biggest thing.. I have to read them! The second I am done with an email it needs to be filed accordingly. I have a personal folder for EVERYTHING!

Same issue with my blackberry.. sometimes it doesn't sync with my email immediately, so it will show I have "x" new emails.. I have to go in and mark them all as opened. I do this through-out the day.

My caller ID at home and cell phone... I need to clear my caller ID on the daily. My cell- I delete my call log and my text in and out box at least twice a day...

Wow.. looking at all of that I realize I'm worse than I thought... There have to be others I'm forgetting too...
