Are you spending New Year's Eve with or w/o DC?

DH and I are going to a cocktail party at a family friends house. Luckily my in-laws offered to stay in with DS. I initially felt really bad about not spending our first new years as parents with DS, but he will be sleeping at midnight anyway Chat Icon

ETA: I am hosting New Years Day (ill have about 20 people over for lunch/dinner Chat Icon) so I'm sure it wont be a late night anyway!

Both we are staying home.

It is DH's birthday and that is his wish - to be home with his family Chat Icon

With her but not out of guilt. No one really has anything planned and we're kind of homebodies if we have the choice.
You should go and have a great time!

Re: Are you spending New Year's Eve with or w/o DC?

Dh & stay home every yr. We make a whole bunch of snacks, play monapoly, and drink apple cider from wine glasses. My 10yr old loves it. I like to stay home with the children because I use to work over nights on New Years Eve the first 4yrs of my 10yr olds life so I feel a little guilty that I missed out. But this yr we actually have some friends comming over with their children so we'll have a little change.

Re: Are you spending New Year's Eve with or w/o DC?

With DD. Our friends have a big NYE bash at their home in NJ. The house has six bedrooms, so we sleep over and bring the PNP for Grace.

Everyone brings their kids, a bottle of wine and a hovers d'overs to share. There will be about 4 couples and their kids (6 kiddies...from age 8-19 months). The kids go to bed around 9ish and the adults hang out, drink, eat, play poker Chat Icon until way after midnight. We did this last year and it was so much fun! If I had a bigger home I would love to host something like this for our friends w/young kids.

With DS. We go next door to my neighbors house for dinner, drinks, hor de vours, etc. Jacob plays with her two girls and a few other couples come with their kids. Jacob goes to bed around 9, and I go back to their house with my video monitor and continue to party. It works out SUPERBLY! Chat Icon

With DS. We usually go to my parents house and the kids play. This year it may be just us vegging out at home.

With DC. Our nieghbors are having a get together and they have a daughter the same age as our son. We'll probably only go there for a little while and then come home and ring in the New Year together. I'm sure it will be nice.

I think its important to celebrate big things like this as a family.
My parents are coming, we are ordering sushi and we will be home celebrating.

The kids might go to Grandma and Grandpa's. A co-worker is having a party so we may go for a bit, but I'm also tempted to stay home with DH and enjoy the alone time.

With, we wouldnt have it any other way. We couldnt imagine not being without our DD and saying Happy New Year without her there. There are plenty of other parties to go to without her but the holidays we want to continue with our family traditions they are spent with family.
