As your child approached their 1st birthday...
did you feel a lump in your throat for the preceding few weeks?
I have such anxiety about it...almost how I felt the days before I turned 30 although that really didn't bother me all that much. But I almost feel like it is impending doom or something. Like the realization that once he turns 1 he's no longer going to be a baby. I mean, he'll always be my baby, but not a baby. And then before I know it he'll be going to kindergarten, high school, college, marriage....ack! Yeah, I'm losing it!
I just can't believe he is going to be 1

Yes!!!
And the night of his party when everyone was gone and I was upstairs rocking him while he slept...I cried like a baby.

I was working on his actual birthday. We had his party the previous day.
I was looking at the clock watching for the exact time of his birth on the clock. I started tearing up 2 minutes before the official time. I was with a client who luckily did not see me. And no tears fell on his back

Same here. I still do, a week later. I can't believe I have a 1-year-old

Awww, happy almost b'day. We're on the 19th.
It's almost like I just wish I can press pause for a little bit. Like I just have no time left to reflect on it all.

Re: As your child approached their 1st birthday...
DS turned one last week and I was a mess. On his actual bday I went in and kissed him at the time he was born and cried while singinghappy birthday at my parents. It was such a challenging year, yet such a wonderful year and seeing how fast it went made me truly understand why parents always say they grow up so fast.
