How much money did you spend on your child's 1st birthday?
I'm trying to figure out my budget for my son's birthday....How much money did you spend on your child's first birthday, what did you do, and what did you have for kiddie entertainment?
Thanks!

We did it in my backyard Had 115 adults and 55 kids Entertainment - Twinkletown - bouncer with a face painter/tattoo girl - about $325 Tent rented with 6 tables and 48 chairs - $350 Balloons for centerpieces - $200 Favors by Val (JoeNick)
I have no idea what the grand total came too though - I stopped counting along the way

Just the party about $500 but then we bought patio furniture, sunumbrella, cleaned up the flower beds, bought flowers/plants, mulsh, etc... but did not include in the price since we have been enjoying/will be using all of them after the party.
We did a backyard BBQ party.
Kids entertainment: We bought DS a swingset for his birthday. It was a hit with the kids. We used DS' kiddie pool for the younger kids. We had crayola and coloring books (we used a table with a plastic tablecloth under a canopy for shade). We had bubbles. We had favors.

Re: How much money did you spend on your child's 1st birthday?
Well we bought a swing set and sand & water table in time for the party (instead of entertainment) and a silly sprinkler - but we'll use those for a few years so I wouldn't consider them part of our "expenses". But they were $$$..
I will tell you - I planned on making it small and simple but it got big and a bit more elaborate somewhere along the way - lots of beer and wine too - so you need to calculate how many people, what you will serve, where you will have it, etc.
It can be as big or as small as you want it to be.
