Asking for a raise

I have a review with my boss next week and I plan on asking for a raise. Anyone have tips on how to do it successfully?

I've been at this job 2 1/2 years and they haven't given raises out. This is my first time getting a review. I've never had to ask for a raise at previous jobs so I am totally inexperienced. :(

Re: Asking for a raise

I would type something up highlighting your accomplishments and especially any money you've brought into the company.

I would also be prepared to suggest additional responsibilities you'd consider taking on.

Be mindful though that if this company is not known to give out raises, you may be better off making more by looking elsewhere.

My last agency would offer bonuses though so that's another suggestion too on how to earn more for added responsibility, especially if you pitch it that not everyone is going to earn them....

I actually was able to receive quite a few but the environment just became too stressful that it didn't matter anymore.
