at 6 months, what was your dc eating?

mine is still eating stage 1 fruits & veggies and cereal and has been for 2 months now.
Is it time to start adding more? What else can i give him? He already has a tooth coming in too!

It is definitely (i think) a good idea to start Stage 2 foods. You can then introduce other foods that you make maybe. Good luck

My doc still told me to stick with stage 1 foods at 6 months... but I am not sure I agree. She was not crawling or even sitting up yet at the time so maybe that is why. At 7 months I am starting to introduce stage 2

At 6 months, I started giving DS stage 2. The consistency isnt so different, its just that they combine more than 1 fruit/veggie.
So for example if your DC is already eating apples, you can get a stage 2 jar that has apples and plums for example. It's just a way to introduce new foods and add more variety. As long as you are only introducing 1 new food every 3 or so days (that is how my dr explained it to me)...if you just start mixing 2 foods together its the same as the stage 2 foods.
DS is now 7 1/2 months and he has been on the following solids schedule since he was 6 1/2 months (his dr gave us the schedule):
morning: cereal & fruit
lunch: fruit & veggie combo (dr said to give yogurt, but my DS had an allergic reaction so i stopped giving it)
dinner: meat/veggie/fruit

i should also add that my DS is 22 lbs so he EATS a lot...probably more than most babies his age.

DS eats Stage 1 & Stage 2 fruits and veggies. I am starting him on meats next week. He told me to hold off on yogurt until the 9 month visit.

My doc must be really conservative, cause my daughter is still only on two meals a day at 7 month w/ just fruits veggies and cereals. My doc told us to stay away from berries and anything exotic. My old ped was definately different cause my son was eating a lot more at this age.

we are really conservative and so is our doc. We are not quite at 6 months but we will def. still be on stage 1 at that time. We started solids late.

We started cereal at 6 months, then added a different veggie every week thereafter.

Now, at 7 1/2 months, he is still trying stage 1 foods. babies have such a long time to try things out that I don't see the rush in anything.

We are starting oatmeal today (not doing rice) and will only add fruits next month at 7 months so we are not quite there yet either.

We started stage 2 food at 6 months. Also our dr told us to start yogurt at lunch.

We moved to stage 2 foods, including meat. I've also given him gerber cookies and zwieback.
